Goodby, Silverstein & Partners (GSP) and Get the Glass (DeCaro) - Studio/Artist and Design Explorations

Studio/Artist and Design Explorations

First, I will talk about the award-winning, full-service integrated advertising agency of Goodby, Silverstein & Partners (GSP), based in San Francisco.  In 2009, Adweek named Goodby, Silverstein & Partners the Agency of the Decade. That same year, Adweek also named Jeff Goodby and Rich Silverstein, the Agency Executives of the Decade.  Their client list includes: Got Milk?, Chevrolet, Hewlett-Packard, Frito-Lay, Sprint, Yahoo!, Nintendo, the National Basketball Association, Netflix, Adobe, and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, to name a few.

Here are a few of their client pages that I thought were phenomenal: Adobe CS5 - Web Production Premium

Another client page that I found exciting and entertaining was Comcast Labs - TV Rabbit.

One of the reasons I chose this site was because of an award-winning site that GSP designed for the California Milk Processor Board: Get the Glass. The Get the Glass site is so engaging, interactive and three-dimensional that I wanted to know the name of the agency that designed the site. When I went to GSP's site, I discovered that GSP's own site was interactive, engaging and multi-dimensional. GSP uses Flash, Javascript, audio and video to showcase their work and provide an engaging and interactive experience for a potential client.  GSP's work page is designed using a grid with smaller images of client work. When the viewer clicks on a photo, a pop-up window opens to a short synopsis of the project. If the viewer clicks a second time, the page goes to the client page where you get to view the video of the client's design/ad project. They also have sounds which can be turned off.  I viewed several client videos and was mesmerized by the quality of each project.

The second site I chose to explore is the award-winning site: Get the Glass, which was designed and developed by GSP for the California Milk Processor Board.

The Get The Glass site was designed and developed to encourage increased milk consumption by inviting visitors to participate in a comically-entertaining Flash-based game whose objective is to Get the Glass--of milk of course. It is an interactive, 3D animated game, designed in Flash to engage the viewer to participate and play. There are several facets of the game, all of which involve the members of the Adachi family, who are in hot pursuit of a large glass of milk.
