Firstpost Studios and Fort Wars

First Post studios is another social gaming app developer to emerge from the boom of social games and media. But it is special to me because I work there. Located here in Southern California, the studio is fairly new but very up and coming with competitive and fun social apps designed for social gamers.

Their first game is currently in Beta, and can be accessed from the Facebook website with a Facebook account. The game is called Fort Wars and you play as a General, and you have command over an army of troops that come out of your base one at a time. It is designed to play against your friends or total strangers, but the more you play, the stronger units you can unlock. The better to defeat your opponents with!

So if you have a Facebook account, give the beta a try and see what we're making. There are more games upon the horizon, so we are hard at work developing new ideas that reach the social gaming community. And keep up with us on Twitter too!

Augmented Reality

Ge uses augmented reality to display their point of view on alternative energy. Their website offers viewer various ways to interact. In one section, the question is posed "what would happen if we added more turbines?". The user is able to click and drag on two sets of turbines and add them to the grid. The result: the user is able to see the cause and effect and answer the question.

Another interactive feature is where the user can print a picture provided by the site. With the use of a webcam, the user can create their own Augmented reality.
